Thanks for taking the time to reply, very helpful.

I enjoy reading these developer responses. Is there an RSS feed which aggregates developer responses as they are posted? I think it would be very interesting.

For now, you can use the blog RSS feed : http://blog.qa.ubuntu.com/rss.xml
---Alt+Tab from fullscreen
---Alt+Tab from fullscreen apps---
As for the alt-tab issue: I'm no expert, but isn't it the JOB of the window manager to be able to switch through windows, fullscreen or not?
I'll try some stuff later, but fullscreen applications like Nexuiz (Open Source) and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (closed) do not allow me to use alt+tab OR my media hotkeys on the laptop.
You believe that it is the fault of the application, not the windowmanager, that a windowmanager key combo doesn't work? Really, how hard would it be to have the wm hold precedence over globally defined keys? This would seem to be the proper way to manage the problem, it would not be a "workaround".
It isn't as if Nexuiz would define the "alt-tab" combo to mean "get out of our app".
---Fix compatibility with webcams and microphone---
I agree, many issues are driver related in this case.
---Include Compiz Fusion Manager by default---
Again, I agree. Most users wouldn't know how to use that, or care to use it. The None/Normal/Extra is plenty for the average user.
---Make it possible to mark applications "Disable Compiz when running"---
You say that's getting fixed, so it's fine. I will say that as long as Compiz is alpha-buggy software (that does interfere with fullscreen apps UNLESS using the manager,) there should be a way to disable it. Of course, one can disable it permanently until it becomes worthy of use.
---Create a standard gaming environment for ubuntu / Partner with big name game developers ---
I think Sales reps/ Marketing employees at Canonical could discuss wider Linux support with game devs. User-mailed requests would be very helpful, but a professional OS developer backing the users would be great. I do NOT think Ubuntu should make its own gaming dev toolkit.
