Call for testing: major update of Ubuntu BrainstormSubmitted by nand on August 22, 2008 - 21:53.A major evolution of Ubuntu Brainstorm is on the way, and includes:
I'm happy to announce that it's reaching a usable state, and is available for open testing on http://devel.ideatorrent.org. You can use your current Brainstorm login if older than the 23th June. (Warning: test server with limited resources). Indeed, a lot of changes were done, and I'd like to test it thoroughly before going live (which I don't expect before a month). So you are welcome to post test content, vote, and report any error you find on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ideatorrent/+filebug. Discussion and suggestion about the new UI can take place in this ubuntuforums.org thread. (Note: This is a test setup, meaning that all your interactions will be removed at next code update) Thanks for your help! |

I found nothing wrong with the programming - no errors so far. But the design is a bit strange an my need some more tweaks.
Keep up the good work!
It is good work but: - icons
It is good work but:
- icons should be from gnome not from KDE - then look better
- up, down, don't care - should be in vertical notation not horizontal (too big change for old brainstorm users)
- solution# is little bit strange for me ... many times the same phrase made not clean look.
I think that this is good work.

You enter the Title and it checks for duplicates, but then the title is not pre-filled on the next page and you have to type it again?
I can't post multiple solutions to an idea I created? ("An error occured (403) You don't seem to have the right to access this page. Please make sure you are connected as the right user.")
None of the Popular Ideas has more than one Solution, so I can't see how voting for multiple solutions works. Most of the solutions are just auto-generated. Can you just delete those or put them back in quarantine until they are re-written? It's a poor demo when none of the answers looks like they would in real life.
We can't post related bugs?
Why can't we post multiple related threads, bugs, and blueprints? Why only one?
On this page, why do I have to enter a captcha again each time I press Preview?
Idea-wise this is definitely
Idea-wise this is definitely better, but I think the design is unfinished/immature. For example under "Ubuntu QA" the icon of "Ideas in quarantine" does not align properly. The "Submit your idea" and "Search" box are hanging separately and unaligned, "most popular in 30 days" drop down menu box looks odd. And I suggest the vote box icons (up down neutral) should be similar in size. Also the vote box could be hanging beside the idea itself, not the solution. But overall this seems to be a big improvement.
